Maths Overview
The children begin their maths journey with a topic on Place Value. Here is a brief outline of the topics we will cover and the order that we will cover them.
Autumn

The children also take weekly mental arithmetic quizzes, called ‘Popcorn Maths’.
PE
Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Children should come to school in their PE kit on these days.
It is very important to have all uniform, coats, hats, lunch boxes and drinks bottles clearly labelled please.
Home-learning and reading
Children will bring home two reading books to practise their reading at home. One book is related to their phonic ability and will be changed once a week. The other book is from our class library and can be changed as often as your child would like. We expect the children to read daily to help them consolidate their early reading skills. Watching a phonics video on our class dojo page can also be reading practise. Please comment in their reading diaries when you read with your child. This will allow us to monitor their progress.
ClassDojo
This fabulous tool is a great way to keep up to date with the learning and upcoming events within the class and the wider school community. Please check ClassDojo for up to date photos, videos and current class information. It is also possible to send messages and communication via ClassDojo.
Finally, If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to catch one of us before 8:30am or after 3:15pm. By working together, we can help support your child as they continue their learning journey through the school. We very much look forward to supporting your children this year.
